Ranbir Kapoor and Aamir Khan
It is known that Rajkumar Hirani is in talks with Aamir Khan for the biopic on Indian cricket legend, Lala Amarnath. Apparently, the perfectionist actor has been the ace director's first choice for his movies, given their super success with 3 Idiots and PK. While Aamir has loved the subject and expressed his interest in bringing the late cricket icon to life on screen, things are yet to be finalised. Since their next collaboration depends on multiple logistics like final screenplay and dates, Hirani is also said to be contemplating an option in case his plans of making the movie with Aamir don't materialise. Reportedly, the filmmaker has sounded off the subject to Ranbir Kapoor, who reprised Sanjay Dutt in the biopic Sanju, besides doing a cameo in PK. In case Aamir is unable to take up the Amarnath biopic, Hirani will offer the role of the late cricket great to Ranbir. The biopic is currently said to be in the scripting stages, and slated to go on floors later next year.
Playing the antagonist Adheera to Yash in KGF: Chapter 2 has surely added a new dimension to Sanjay Dutt's acting career. Even as his next, Leo, starring Thalapathy Vijay is being readied for a release later this year, Sanju is being sought after by more filmmakers from the south. The latest is that the makers of Vidaamuyachi have approached him to play the lead antagonist opposite Ajith. Even though Arjun Das is on board to play the baddie, the makers were looking for an appropriate actor to give a solid takkar to the Tamil superstar on screen. Considering the buzz about Leo, they felt Sanju is the best actor for the final face-off against Ajith.

The trailer of Jawan is being talked about on social media for multiple reasons. One of them is Shah Rukh Khan's dialogue, "Bete ko haath lagane se pehle, baap se baat kar (Before touching the son, talk to the father)" in director Atlee's action thriller. Interestingly, netizens had been likening it as a dig at Sameer Wankhede, former Zonal Director of Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), for his handling of Aryan Khan in the drugs-on-cruise case. Yesterday, Wankhede shared a cryptic post, which was seen as a retort to SRK's filmi dialogue. He wrote, "I have licked the fire and danced in the ashes of every bridge I ever burned. I fear no hell from you - Nicole Lyons. A quote that always inspires me!" While Wankhede didn't really insinuate anything with his post, netizens were quick to claim that it was a counter to SRK's dialoguebaazi. Really now!
During the weekend special of India's Best Dancer 3, Moushumi Chatterjee revisited her interactions with the late legend, Nutan. She said, "Nutan ji, as a guru devi and a source of unparalleled inspiration, possessed an extraordinary aura. She once told me, âNo matter where you are, never lose sight of yourself. Don't aspire to be someone else or emulate their journey. Be as authentically you as you can and carve your own path.'"
Talk in Telugu land is that Prabhas's next, Salaar, is likely to be delayed. Helmed by Prashanth Neel, the action thriller was slated to arrive in cinemas on September 28. However, sources claim that the makers may not be able to meet the deadline due to pending post-production work. Reportedly, the first part of the film, which also stars Prithviraj Sukumaran in a pivotal part, is likely to come in December or January 2024. Apparently, Prashanth, Prabhas and the producers discussed the status and mutually agreed to defer its release. An official announcement will be made as soon as they finalise the new date.
Ranchi lad Rahul Bhagat, 21, has emerged as the winner of the first edition of Amazon Mini TV's Hip Hop India. Nora Fatehi, who judged the dance reality show with Remo D'Souza, said, "We all embarked on this exciting dance journey, to find India's next hip hop sensation. Rahul's performance throughout the show was nothing short of legendary, and it really showed his commitment and love for hip hop."
Rajinikanth's Jailer, not only proved naysayers wrong, but continues to attract audiences to cinemas. Pleased with the record-breaking collections of Nelson Dilipkumar's directorial venture, producer Kalanithi Maran opted to share the gains with his leading superstar. Yesterday, the filmmaker presented Rajini with a cheque of about R110 crore, which is said to be the actor's share of profit as per their agreement. Moreover, Maran also presented a fleet of luxury cars to the legendary actor, who picked the latest edition of an SUV. The producer also handed over to Rajini the keys to the swanky SUV, said to cost about R 1.25 crore. The action drama has turned the tides for the veteran icon after a series of flops. His last hit was S Shankar's 2.0 (2018).
