Yes, it's an ordeal to have guests at home, more so when they have annoying habits and show no signs of leaving. Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge? starring Ajay Devgn and Konkona Sen Sharma was a laugh riot. But Paresh Rawal in 'Guest Iin London' doesn't offer anything new.
The film is about a couple, played by Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Kharbanda, who pretend to be married in order to attain a permanent visa in London, and are later compelled to tie the knot to uphold their lie. Uninvited guests (Paresh Rawal and Tanvi Azmi) drop in without any warning, turning their lives upside down. Guest Iin London feels a tad too long, especially since it doesn't make you laugh.
With few comic elements to boast of, the film struggles to keep the audience hooked. Its use of toilet humour - a scene has Rawal describing the sorry state of affairs in India by correlating it to his farts - may leave you puzzled rather than in splits. The chemistry between Aaryan and Kharbanda is non-existent. Rawal and Azmi, though, are endearing as the older couple. The plot is predictable and the comedy, forced. Revisiting the old film may be a better alternative.
