When a film reaches the staggering mark of almost Rs 500 crore at the box office, it's not just a success; it's a cinematic phenomenon. Gadar 2, headlined by the iconic duo Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel, has become a blockbuster sensation, resonating with audiences who have showered the film with love and appreciation. From the captivating storyline to the nostalgic echoes of the original "Gadar" and the enchanting chemistry between the lead pair, Gadar 2 has truly struck a chord. However, amid the celebrations of this monumental achievement, a storm of words has erupted between Ameesha Patel and the film's director, Anil Sharma.
It all began when Ameesha Patel expressed her reservations about participating in "Gadar 3" if her character, Sakina, and Sunny Deol's character, Tara, were not given substantial screen time. In response, Anil Sharma remained unshaken, asserting that Sakina's character was a creation of his heart, not hers. The clash of creative visions was apparent, and now, Ameesha Patel has stepped forward to share her side of the story, shedding light on their strained relationship.
In an exclusive statement to News18, Ameesha Patel revealed that her differences with Anil Sharma existed even during the making of the first Gadar. Despite their creative clashes, they have always considered each other as family. Ameesha also clarified a crucial point - the character of Sakina was not a brainchild of Anil Sharma, but rather the creation of the writer Shaktimanji. She emphasized that her decision to be a part of Gadar 2 was solely driven by her commitment to Sunny Deol and Zee Studios, and she even disclosed that initially, the director had preferred Mamta Kulkarni and Govinda for the lead roles.
The revelations didn't stop there. Ameesha Patel disclosed that Anil Sharma had requested her to delete tweets related to mismanagement on the sets of Gadar 2 and tweets concerning actress Simrat Kaur, who is part of the film. She pointed out that she had evidence of their conversation, showcasing the director's request. Furthermore, Ameesha shared details about her chats with Zee Studios, expressing shock over Sharma's handling of production issues. These conversations eventually led to resolutions on Zee's part. Ameesha also mentioned having videos where Sharma made commitments that he failed to fulfill.

Addressing her future in the Gadar franchise, Ameesha Patel made it clear that if approached for Gadar 3, she would only consider it if her character, Sakina, had a prominent role alongside Tara, akin to their roles in the first Gadar. She offered insight into her perspective, saying, "I feel bad for Anilji since he tried to push his son Utkarsh a lot in Gadar 2, but eventually, Tara and Sakina stole the limelight. Utkarsh is a very sweet boy, and I got him into the industry, and his father is very sweet to keep promoting him. Let's hope some bigwigs from the industry start signing Utkarsh, as he's a sweet boy and no boy would like to only be signed by his dad."
As the revelations continue to unfold, the Gadar saga takes on new dimensions, both on and off-screen, making headlines and captivating the attention of Bollywood enthusiasts.
