Four way clash at the BO this I-Day: 'Stree 2', 'Vedaa', 'Pushpa 2' and 'Khel Khel Mein' to release on same day

On Friday, the makers of the much-awaited movie 'Stree 2' starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao announced the release date of their horror-comedy. On Friday morning, Shraddha treated fans with this exciting announcement.

Sharing the film's production house Maddock Films's post on her Instagram stories, she wrote, "Woh aa rahi hai. 15th August ko!!!!!!" The film directed by Amar Kaushik, the sequel will hit theatres on Independence Day this year on August 15.

Building the curiosity among fans, 'Stree 2' makers shared that film's teaser will be unveiled directly in theatres during 'Munjya', a horror-comedy backed by Maddock, which is also a part of the 'Stree' universe screening. 'Stree' was released in 2018 and was declared a blockbuster hit. The sequel will be out in theatres in August this year. 'Oo Stree Kal Aana', a phrase from the movie to date has been repeatedly used in memes. The film's music also gained significant attention tracks like 'Milegi Milegi' and 'Aao Kabhi Haveli Pe'.

With this, the Independence Day releases will see a four-way clash at the box office. Apart from 'Stree 2', Allu Arjun's 'Pushpa 2', John Abraham and Sharvari's 'Vedaa', and Akshay Kumar's 'Khel Khel Mein' will be released in theatres on the same day.

Pushpa 2:

Allu Arjun's 'Pushpa 2' is expected to be one of the biggest hits of the year. The Sukumar directorial is one of the most anticipated films of the year. The first part which starred Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil was exceptionally well received. The film not only earned well at the box office but became a part of pop culture.

Khel Khel Mein:

Starring Akshay Kumar, Taapsee Pannu, Vaani Kapoor, Ammy Virk, Aditya Seal, Pragya Jaiswal and Fardeen Khan, the comedy-drama will be out in theatres on August 15, 2024. It was earlier supposed to be released in September. Khel Khel Mein "aims to redefine the comedy-drama genre, offering a rollercoaster ride of emotions that transcends the ordinary. Save the date for this cinematic delight, poised to leave audiences in splits and craving for more", as per the statement. 'Khel Khel Mein' is directed by Mudassar Aziz.

Vedaa:
