Aishwarya Rai Bachchan
Former Pakistani cricketer Abdul Razzaq is in hot water and the subject of intense backlash over his recent remark at an event. While talking to the media at a press conference, the former Pakistani cricketer was addressing the team's performance and strategies. Amid this discussion, the cricketer ended up using Aishwarya Rai's name to make a point. As you can imagine, this did go down well with social media. Now, after facing massive backlash, Abdul Razzaq has issued a public apology.
The controversial statement in question was, "Here, I am referring to their (PCB's) intention. While I was playing, I was aware of my captain, Younis Khan's, good intentions. That gave me strength and confidence, and with Allah's help, I was able to perform well for Pakistani cricket."
"We don't really intend to improve and enhance the players, in my opinion. That will never happen if you believe that I will marry Aishwarya (Rai) to have a good-natured and moral child. Therefore, you must first amend your intentions." He added
The controversial statement was met with displeasure from several former teammates and prominent figures in the cricket realm.
