Shantanu Mukherjee popularly known as Shaan has been entertaining fans with his magical voice since the 90s. From Shah Rukh Khan to Aamir Khan and Ranbir Kapoor, he's lent his voice to most superstars. As the singer turns 49 today, he tells mid-day.com, that he's expecting a surprise from wife Radhika like every year and his plans to get on OTT.
How do you plan to ring in your birthday this year?
Being my 49th, I want to keep it low key, next year will be the big one. I'll meet up with some friends and party in the evening, the rest is all family time.
Do you have any particular birthday traditions?
I don't have any birthday traditions as such but since the time I got married Radhika has been enthusiastic about birthday surprises. She always gets me a gift every year and I have to shamefully admit I haven't been as good when it comes to her birthdays. That's become a sort of a tradition now, every year she makes my birthday special. The only problem is now she's got my expectations high!

Where do we hear or see you next? Any plans to get on the OTT platform?
OTT is the way forward and I have a few great ideas that can work on the platform as a musical show but I haven't really got down to taking it to the next level. Hopefully, I will sometime soon.
You along with your sister Sagarika have been a part of a lot of 90s kids childhood memoriesâ¦
Yes! We should collaborate again but because of the lockdown we haven't been able to do it. However, it is an interesting idea.
Any message for fans who have been following you over the years?
A big thank you, lots of gratitude for all the love over the years, and they continue to be with me. It's very humbling and I don't know how much I deserve but this is what keeps me active and charged. I want to keep creating new music and entertaining my audience.
