Priyanshu Chatterjee, having starred in films like Tum Bin, Dil Ka Rishta, Bhootnath, Hate Story 3, Shikara, Baadshaho and more, will now be seen for the first time in a crossover film titled 'Barun Rai And The House on the Cliff' which is shot and will be released in the UK. Priyanshu is playing the character of Barun Rai, a parapsychologist detective for the first time in his career. He has donned a completely different look in this film which will be similar to a classic '70s era look. He will be seen investigating crimes where paranormal activity is present with the use of his clairvoyant visions to reconstruct all the unexplained incidents that have occurred. Priyanshu spoke to mid-day.com about the project.
Tell us about the film and your role?
The film Barun Rai and The House on The Cliff is a parapsychological thriller shot in the UK at some beautiful locations. This will be my first crossover British film. I play the role of Barun Rai in this film who is there to solve the mystery.
How were you approached and what was your reaction to the script?
I have known Sam Bhattacharjee for some time and we always wanted to work with each other. What better than a great script like Barun Rai and The House on The Cliff. I found the script extremely gripping and it offered something new. Even with my look in the film, you will see me in the classic '70s British era look. So, in all, it was something new for me to get into.
Any memories from the shoot?
We shot the film last year post the pandemic lockdown. The best part was shooting in some quaint locations in the UK. It was a wonderful time shooting with a mix of Indian and local technicians.
