Ganesh Chaturthi is all about devotion, family time, good food and positive vibes. Celebrities have been celebrating the festival with enthusiasm for the longest time. Whether hosting Ganpati at home or visiting native places, the celebration calls for a much-needed break from work. Similarly, for Avantika Dassani, Ganesh Chaturthi is a special occasion.
In an exclusive interview with Mid-Day.com, Avantika spoke about her fondest Ganesh Chaturthi memories. "Being a Maharashtrian, Ganesh Chaturthi holds a special place for me. The energetic vibe of the arrival and visarjan of Ganpati to feeling the auspicious aura of the festival, it was always special." Avantika's mother, actress Bhagyashree, is a Maharashtrian.
Recalling Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations in Sangli, Maharashtra, Avantika shared, "As kids, we would visit various homes for Ganpati darshan. We would be very excited to savour delicious modaks and pedas without any restrictions throughout the festival. However, most of my childhood Ganesh Chaturthi memories were created in Sangli. Our family stayed there and hosted grand celebrations at a Ganpati temple close by."
The actress added that the highlight of visiting Sangli for Ganesh Chaturthi was spending time with her maternal grandparents. "We celebrated Ganesh Chaturthi in Sangli for many years. It would be a traditional affair. The festival would be filled with warmth and joy. It called for a nice getaway with the family and I got to spend a lot of quality time with my maternal grandparents.," she shared.

Avantika, the daughter of Bhagyashree and Himalay Dassani, is an actress. She made her acting debut with ZEE5's psychological thriller, Mithya. Co-starring Huma Qureshi, she played the role of Rhea Rajguru, who was accused of plagiarism by her teacher. She set out on a journey of vengeance to destroy the life of Juhi Adhikari (Huma). Her performance in the show was appreciated.
Avantika is yet to announce her second project. According to reports, she will be starring in a film titled U Shape Ki Gully. The makers and the actress haven't given a confirmation yet. Reportedly, it is a musical romantic comedy set in Lucknow. Vivaan Shah is rumoured to be her co-star.
