Remember Kangana Ranaut calling Karan Johar, the "flag-bearer of nepotism" for launching star kids in his films? This accusation was made on Johar's chat show, Koffee With Karan, where she was accompanied by co-actor Saif Ali Khan for their film Rangoon's promotion. Seems like the internet hasn't forgotten about this.
On Thursday, Karan Johar introduced a new addition to his Dostana 2 cast. He announced the newbie, Lakshya, who will share screen space with Kartik Aaryan and Janhvi Kapoor. As soon as the announcement was made, the filmmaker's post was flooded with questions like "Which star kid?", "Why are you hiding his last name?", "Whose son is he?"
The filmmaker, who is often criticised for promoting nepotism, took those questions in stride and answered them. Karan Johar responded, "Yes I woke up to several inquiries asking about his film industry connections! He is NOT from the business and went through a legit audition process! Am grateful to Shanoo Sharma for introducing Lakshya to Dharma Productions."

The internet was quick to point out that Lakshya's full name is Lakshya Lalwani, who appeared in television shows such as Porus, Adhuri Kahaani Hamari and a show called India's Warrior High. The actor is just 23 years old and has grabbed the second lead in a Dharma film.
Karan Johar introduced Lakshya by sharing his photographs and by writing: "Both happy and excited to introduce the new kid on the Dharma block! LAKSHYA will be making his debut with us in #DOSTANA2 and from thereon, we hope to start a solid cinematic journey together! Please welcome @itslakshya and shower him with all your love and blessings... [sic]"
Farah Khan replied to the post and called Lakshya, "So cute".
When Karan Johar had announced the cast of Dostana 2, he informed that a new face will be introduced soon. The wait has finally come to an end. Featuring Kartik Aaryan, Janhvi Kapoor, and now Lakshya, Dostana 2 is the sequel to Dostana (2008) starring John Abraham, Abhishek Bachchan, and Priyanka Chopra.
