It is not often that a film's teaser receives such resounding applause from the audience. The trailer launch of Hadi Ali Abrar's Dongri Ka Raja was held on Wednesday night with the makers and star cast coming together to speak about the film's journey.
A passionate love story set against the backdrop of the underworld, the film stars Ronit Roy, Ashmit Patel, Sachin Suvarna along with debutantes Gashmeer Mahajani and Reechan Sinha, who play the lead couple. Going by the first view, it seems like a mix of action and romance.
"This is a special moment for all of us," said director Abrar, who has earlier assisted filmmakers Ashutosh Gowariker and Dharmesh Darshan. "It has been quite a journey. The entire cast and crew have given their blood and sweat to make this film. We shot at real locations, especially in the lanes of Dongri, which was an experience in itself. It wasn't easy, but today, when I look at the trailer, I feel proud," he added.

First-time producer PS Chhatwal said team effort made the film a reality. "I am not here to make money. I genuinely want to help anyone who I think deserves a chance. I am happy that I have put my money on the right project. For me, this means a lot more than just a film," he said.
Ronit, who plays a gangster in the upcoming film that hits theatres on November 11, said, "I went like a blank slate on the first day. Everyday, Hadi and I would have healthy arguments because we wouldn't agree with each other on certain things. But, I really loved working with him. Pata hi nahi chala kaam kab shuru hua and kab khatam," he said.
