One of the most celebrated and revered actors of Hindi Cinema, Dilip Kumar, passed away today at the age of 98 after a prolonged illness. His wife Saira Banu shared the heartbreaking news of his passing away earlier today on his official social media account.
Kumar was laid to rest at Juhu Kabrastan, today evening. His body was draped with the Tricolour and the video was shared by the actor's aide, Faisal Farooqui:

A lot of people gathered outside his residence to pay their last respects to the veteran, and it also included police officials who arrived to give him state honours, ensuring all the safety protocols at the same time.
With all the precautions and protocols, his body was brought to the Kabrastan.
Saira Banu, who stood by the actor throughout, was clicked with Sumeet Saigal outside Dilip Kumar's residence before his last journey.
Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan also arrived to pay their last respects to the veteran actor. Bachchan and Kumar had shared screen space in Ramesh Sippy's 'Shakti' in 1982. The two stalwarts also came together for a magazine photoshoot that also had Shah Rukh Khan.
Earlier today, many famous personalities arrived at the legendary actor's residence in Mumbai. Dharmendra, Shah Rukh Khan, Anil Kapoor, Vidya Balan, Karan Johar, visited Kumar's residence to pay last respects to the late veteran star.
Talking about his unfortunate demise, another veteran star Jeetendra said, "What can I say about this legend, Dilip Kumar Sahab, who showed us the way. Who showed us how it's done, with so much grace and elan. He has been an inspiration to people like me who have aspired to be like him in every possible way."
He further added, "His love and warmth is unmatched and there will never be another like him. He was not just a genius on screen but also a great friend and a gem of a person. His contribution to cinema and our lives is huge. I will miss him dearly. May he rest in peace. Condolences to the entire family and Sairaji."
Dilip Kumar's almost six-decade career comprises unforgettable movies and moments that have forever brightened the Indian silver screen.
