Actress-politician Smriti Irani is known for her sassy replies and witty posts on social media. Despite having a packed schedule, she makes sure to take some time out to interact with fans on a regular basis. On Sunday, Smriti hosted an AMA session on her Instagram and took fun questions about her life, acting and more. While it started off as a light-hearted interactive session, it took an unlikely turn when a follower had a query about her marital life.
A user on Instagram asked Smriti, "Aap ki shadi aapke friend ke pati se hui kya? (Did you marry your friend's husband?)" In no time, Smriti wore the hat of sass and replied like a queen. Setting the record straight on the claims that she married her 'bachpan ki friend' Mona's husband Zubin Irani, the actress-politician said, "Nahi ji. Mona is 13 years older than me so no question of her being my 'bachpan ki saheli'. She (Mona) is family and not a politician, so don't drag her in, fight me, argue with me, demean me but don't drag a civilian who has nothing to do with politics into the gutter with you. She deserves respect."
Smriti, a renowned model and actress, got married to Zubin Irani, a Parsi businessman, in 2001. The couple welcomed a son named Zohr in the same year. Two years later, Smriti and Zubin had their second child, a daughter named Zoish. For the unversed, Zubin had a daughter with his former wife Mona Irani, a coordinator and former beauty pageant contestant. The eldest girl, Shanelle, recently got married to Arjun Bhalla and Smriti participated in all the rituals associated with the wedding.
