Ritvik Sahore, who entered the entertainment arena at a very young age as a child artist is currently seen in Amazon miniTV's new show âJamnapaar'. In an exclusive interaction with mid-day.com, Ritivik shares how he took on a non-conventional career path while balancing his academics, creating his identity in showbiz, and more.
Ritvik made his Bollywood debut with âFerrari Ki Sawaari' in 2012 when he was only 11 years old. He recalls how his parents sat him down to ask if he wanted to act given how he was clueless about the industry. He says, "They could have easily decided on their own, but they asked me if I wanted to do it. That's how the audition process started. But even after that, I finished school and moved to junior college. There was a conflict between science and commerce. All of my friends were moving to science. I thought I could do science, but I also wanted to act. My father told me that I shouldn't take up science if I wanted to act."
When asked if growing up he tried to align himself in a way to please a certain sector of people as seen in the show, he says, "Not at the cost of losing my true identity."
Ritvik rose to fame as young Omkar Singh Phogat in the Aamir Khan-starrer âDangal'. The actor who is all grown up now aspires to do the best as an artist no matter the circumstances. He states that although his contemporaries are considered stars he believes in his journey.

He says, "If I don't have that ambition, then how will I reach? Everyone has their own journey. I've also paved my way to âJamnapaar' through my own decisions, whatever I've done through the years. So no one can take my journey away from me and no one can take my talent away and what I do, the discipline that I have. What I'm destined to be, I will be. With other actors, it's a healthy combination."
"If I see someone, of course, jealousy hoti hai thodi ki, kya kamal kaam kia hai. I'll go and do better tomorrow. That is something to compete with. I feel agar mere papa bhi koi bade producer hote, he would have of course looked out for me and helped me. There's nothing wrong with that," Ritvik signs off.
