CWC 2023: Anushka Sharma gives Virat Kohli a hug after India's defeat to Australia

The Australian team took home the cricket world cup trophy leaving millions of Indians and the boys in blue heartbroken. With a clean record throughout the tournament, India's first loss in the series was a major setback. However, the boys put up a stellar performance throughout the tournament setting records and treating fans with their best game. After the game, the Indian payers were visibly upset and tying to hold back tears.

Actor Anushka Sharma, wife of cricketer Virat Kohli was also in the crowd watching the team play. The actress who is known to celebrate Virat and the team's achievements from the stand also stood by them during their loss. A picture of Anushka giving Virat a hug post the match and holding his hand is going viral.

Meanwhile, Indian celebrities took to social media to laud the efforts of the team and their performance through the series that enabled them to end the tournament at the top pf the points table.

Shah Rukh Khan took to social media and wrote, "The way the Indian team has played this whole tournament is a matter of honour and they showed great spirit and tenacity. It's a sport and there are always a bad day or two. Unfortunately it happened today….but thank u Team India for making us so proud of our sporting legacy in cricket…u bring too much cheer to the whole of India. Love and respect. You make us one proud Nation."

Abhishek Bachchan also expressed his support and wrote, "A tough loss after a valiant effort. Commendable performance by the men in blue throughout. Hold your heads high and thank you for the journey. #TeamIndia #CWC23".

Ayushmann Khurrana was among the celebrities who visited the stadium to see the match live. The actor took to his Instagram and wrote, "just a bad day at the office @indiancricketteam. You guys will always be remembered as the toughest side of #WorldCup2023 Thank you for the adrenaline! Well played!"

Several celebrities were spotted at the stadium as they watch the match live. Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh, who were also seen heading to the city for the match, were seated in the balcony along with Ayushmann Khurrana. Shanaya Kapoor, Aryan Khan, Suhana, and Shah Rukh Khan's little one AbRam were also snapped sitting at the stadium's balcony as they enjoyed the match. The Jawan actor, superstar Shah Rukh Khan, also reached Ahmedabad and was seen sitting with the legendary singer Asha Bhosle.
