Climate warrior Bhumi Pednekar's zeal to better the environment is rubbing off on her neighbours. They are turning their sea-facing high-rise into a fully sustainable living space.

"We don't use plastic bottles. Everyone segregates garbage. I am overjoyed to see how we are contributing towards recycling," informs the actor whose home partly runs on solar power. All this has happened because of Pednekar's green talk with determination and perseverance. "Climate change is upon us and it is real. Through my initiative of Climate Warrior, I diligently try to highlight the seriousness of the crisis and its repercussions," Bhumi said.

Currently, Bhumi is part of Sony BBC Earth's Young Earth Champions initiative. The nationwide contest aims at inspiring young minds of India to think about a better and more sustainable future. Bhumi along with an expert will judge this initiative.

"Young Earth Champions is offering a great platform to trigger an exchange of creative ideas among kids, who have the power to bring about change. I am looking forward to encouraging participation from incredible, young talents and a stimulating discussion about a sustainable future," she added.

On the film front, Bhumi Pednekar has started shooting for comedy-drama Badhaai Do along with Rajkummar Rao.

Badhaai Do is the second instalment in the Badhaai Ho franchise. While the first film starred Ayushmann Khurrana and Sanya Malhotra, the new film will see Rajkummar and Bhumi taking the franchise forward. She recently introduced the characters of the film on Instagram. "Do mastane chale zindagi banane, Bande sayane aur naam ke deewane#SumiAurShardul #BadhaaiDo @rajkummar_rao," she wrote.

In the new film, Rajkummar plays the only male officer in a Mahila thana in Delhi. Bhumi will reportedly play a police officer and a PT teacher. The film is directed by Harshvardhan Kulkarni, who helmed the Gulshan Devaiah-starrer comedy Hunterrr (2015), and is written by Suman Adhikary and Akshat Ghildial, who earlier wrote Badhaai Ho.
