Joining hands with his frequent collaborator again for a monsoon track, producer Meghdeep Bose says Shekhar Ravjiani’s voice hasn’t been exploited enough

Meghdeep Bose has collaborated with Shekhar Ravjiani on multiple projects

Producer Meghdeep Bose joins hands with Shekhar Ravjiani for a monsoon track, Boonda baandi. "I approached Shekhar with an idea to feature his voice in a modern ghazal. A few days later, he suggested that I compose a track for the [monsoon] season. Shekhar loved the melody instantly," says Bose, who has worked with Vishal-Shekhar on several projects. "I heard Shekhar's ghazal renditions during his tribute to Jagjit Singh saab, and felt that there was much more of his voice that needed to be brought to the fore."

Juggling duties as producer and composer served as a boon for Bose, who enjoys the "immense control" that comes with the job. "There is no aspect of production that is out of your control. Arranging and producing a song enables the creation of an integral sound. One can provide the ideological glue that brings everything together."

In the future for the producer is a string of songs for industry folk, including Pritam, Vishal-Shekhar, Aditya Narayan, and composer Amaal Mallik. "I am also in the
process of working on a collaborative album titled Main Tera, with Azaan Sami Khan, and a few artistes from the UK."
