Star moms have proved that pregnancy needn't be time for a sartorial sabbatical. Top designers suggest how mommy-to-be Kareena Kapoor Khan can amp up her style

It'S the season of star pregnancies. While quite a few Hollywood moms-to-be have been winning the style stakes of late with their baby bump, closer home, we have Kareena Kapoor Khan who has been keeping it rather casual as she goes about her work commitments.

In anticipation of some cool statements by Bebo, we get five designers to sketch maternity styles for the actress:
Amy Billimoria
I would love to style Kareena in contemporary stylised-yet-modern silhouettes and not completely oversized clothing. I have chosen a mint blue viscose shirtdress with a detailed structured silhouette creating the ease below waist and teamed it with breathable white linen palazzos. This look camouflages the bump while creating a modern play of gussets to give an A-line bottom. Vintage floral prints and classic whites are worth experimenting with too. She should avoid wearing heavy fabrics and embroideries, and keep her look minimal using colour blocking.

Who says motherhood can't be glamorous? Embracing the changing body and managing to look flawless is challenging, but not impossible. Keeping in mind Kareena's style, I have designed a look for her in which she celebrates that. Simple, strong, stylish.
Raghuvendra Rathore
She needs no input from fashion stylists as she has an inherent style of her own. However, in the sketch, a draped dress visualisation shows her inner confident maternal style as a superstar mother must.

For a casual day outing, a soft pastel pinafore dress is apt. The empire waistline compliments the to be mother's belly. It is comfortable and chic too.

Kareena is a diva, and I expect no less from her in terms of style when her bump starts to show. I hope she shows off her curves with fitted dresses. For a formal affair, Kareena could opt for a sunshine or canary yellow gown in silk chiffon with a flowy skirt.
