Brodha V, who's collaborated with industry bigwigs like Vishal Dadlani and Benny Dayal in the past, urges people to notice the musicians from the South who are making a name without the support of big labels

Having released his latest single, Shook Ones, rapper Brodha V argues that, unlike is being depicted, the rap scene in India isn't only defined by developments occurring in Mumbai and Delhi. The artiste, who's collaborated with industry bigwigs like Vishal Dadlani and Benny Dayal in the past, urges people to notice the musicians from the South who are making a name without the support of big labels.

"Most rappers and musicians who are celebrated belong to North India, and are Hindi-speaking artistes. We tend to showcase that this is all that India has to offer in terms of its rap culture. But that's not true. There are artistes from the North-East and South India who are better. Their gigs are usually sold-out, even though they perform in other languages. They need to be in the limelight too," he argues.
