The recently evicted contestant from the Bigg Boss House, Manya Singh in a candid conversation revealed that her family and brother were mercilessly attacked by angry netizens after a controversial comment she made on the show. Manya was called out for demeaning her co-contestant actress Sreejita De on her profession as a TV actress. This not only was criticized by host Salman Khan but even members from the television fraternity like Gauhar Khan and Arjun Bijlani who took to social media. Manya Singh's mindless remark was met with a lot of flak from netizens.

Clarifying and apologizing for her folly on Voot Bigg Buzz Manya shared "It was in the heat of the moment when I said those things, which was really taken out of context. I didn't mean to demean anyone and I am sorry if I have. I realised the repercussions of my words when I found out what my family had to face because of it. My brother and family were brutally attacked by netizens post my statement. A lot of hateful things were said to them about me which is really disturbing."
