A Musician, a Carnatic classical vocalist and a dancer- Benny Dayal's versatility and charm in every craft continues to inspire fans and music enthusiasts. The talented singer who has some of the popular chartbusters to his credit is all set to create some âfunk' magic with his line-up in this Friday's episode of Unacademy Unwind with MTV.
All set to explore his take on âBolly Funk' with his band Funktuation, Benny will re-create his cult track, Let's Nacho and Tamil Fever as a mashup and add his unique touch to it. Speaking of the birth of his band and their pioneering genre Bolly Funk, Benny shared that he started Funkuation in 2011, the band picked up steam when he shifted to Bombay in 2012. None of the members of the band was fans of Bollywood songs, leaving them apprehensive about merging Bollywood and funk. Benny's reassurance and gusto set them off on an incredible journey to unearth the upbeat genre of âBolly Funk.' Viewers would also be in for a spellbinding musical treat with another of his hit, Jai Jai Shiv Shankar from War. The lyrical powerhouse witnessed new additions including guitar, horn and trumpet elements presenting a lively fusion performance by the gifted band.

Lastly, Benny's unique fervour for creativity and collaboration shines as he belts out his new original for the very first time. Inspired by his astute observation that there is no bald hero in the industry, his collaboration with producer Dub Sharma coined his new original composition Baldywood Hero, which will have its exclusive premiere on Unacademy Unwind with MTV.
Together with his band, Benny has won many hearts across the globe for their unique experiments with funk, bringing out a soulful dimension to each number by adding additional layers of bass, a horns section, percussion, and magical vocals. This week's episode is sure to jazz the audience up with a pepped-up blend of Bollywood songs with funk!
