Those who loved the Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial 'Animal' are in for a menacing ride for its sequel. In December, the makers officially announced the second installment of the Ranbir Kapoor-starrer. At the end of âAnimal', antagonist Bobby Deol's brother who is a lookalike of Ranbir and is a professional butcher, plans to avenge his death. Now, a report by Instant Bollywood suggests that actor Vicky Kaushal has been approached to play the villain in the sequel that has been titled âAnimal Park'.
Vicky has never been cast in a negative role and it will be interesting to see him lock horns with Ranbir on the big screen. That being said, there has been no official confirmation about the same from the makers.

'Animal' was one of the most successful films of 2023. Released on December 1, the film raked in over Rs 500 crore at the domestic box office. It did not sit well with a section of the audience who called it out for its derogatory portrayal of women. Interstingly, it clashed with Vicky's 'Sam Bahadur' which was also released on the same day. It marked his second collaboration with Meghna Gulazar after 'Raazi'. 'Sam Bahadur' also featured Sanya Malhotra and Fatima Sana Shaikh.
'Animal' also featured Triptii Dimri, Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor, Shakti Kapoor, and Prem Chopra. The film chronicles a toxic father-son relationship set against the backdrop of crime and the underworld. The 3 hour-21 minute long film was released in 5 languages- Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Vicky will next be seen alongside Triptii Dimri in the romantic comedy film titled 'Mere Mehboob Mere Sanam'. Helmed by Anand Tiwari and produced by Karan Johar, it also stars Ammy Virk. Vicky also has 'Chhaava' directed by Laxman Utekar. The period action drama film also stars Rashmika Mandanna and is centered around Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the son of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
Not just that, Vicky and Ranbir will come together for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's âLove and War' which also stars Alia Bhatt. This film will be Vicky and Alia's second collaboration. The film will go on floors in a few months and will be released on Christmas 2025.
