Akshay Oberoi wins a lottery

Set to slip into the role of a prince, Akshay Oberoi will share screen space with Sara Ali Khan and Vikrant Massey in Pavan Kriplani's Gaslight.

Oberoi, who is currently shooting in Rajkot, says the suspense drama sees him as a flamboyant man belonging to a wealthy family. "He is like a nawab. Playing a character who has so much power is fun. He has inherent power; he comes from this lineage, the schools he has been to and people he's been around, are powerful."

As someone who prevents portraying a character similar to one he has explored before, Oberoi says this project fits the bill. "The joy of acting comes from slipping into the skin of different characters, and playing all kinds of parts. This way, I can grow as an actor. The clothes that I wear and the part that I play are different. It is not a caricature, but it is a part that is larger than life. I really hope that this experiment goes well. I'm more excited about the process because working with Pavan will be fun."
