Akshay Kumar's 'OMG 2' to release on Netflix on this day

Winning hearts theatrically, 'OMG 2' is now set for its streaming release on Netflix on October 8, 2023. Directed by Amit Rai, OMG 2 boasts of a stellar star cast featuring Akshay Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam. The film weaves humour and thought-provoking themes into an unforgettable cinematic experience, which will now be available for audiences across 190 countries on Netflix.

Around the theatrical release of the film, OMG 2 landed in trouble with the censor board for its bold topic. The censor board advised as many as 27 cuts before granting even an A certificate. Reportedly, the OTT version of the film will feature the uncensored parts of the film as well.

During the theatrical run of the film, Akshay Kumar had visited theatres to gauge in audience reaction. In a video, the actor was seen interacting with the fans and asking them if they liked the film. Akshay then said, "Kamaal ki baat bataun, pehli adult film hai, joh teenagers ke liye bani hai. Actually, yeh sab school main dikhana chahiye (The funny thing is that this is the first adult film that is made for teenagers. This film should be shown in schools)."

Presented by Viacom18 Studios, in association with Cape of Good Films and Wakaoo Films, OMG 2 is written and directed by Amit Rai. The film is produced by Aruna Bhatia, Jyoti Deshpande, Ajit Andhare, Swaroop Paresh Rawal, Hema A. Thakkar, Vipul D. Shah, Ashwin Varde, and Rajesh Bahl.
