Just after Maidaan, Ajay Devgn is all set for yet another cricket film. The actor has joined hands with Tigmanshu Dhulia and Priti Sinha to produce a movie based on Ramachandra Guha's book âA Corner of a Foreign Field.' The book is based on the story of cricketer Palwankar Baloo and his brothers. The film's cast, crew, and director are yet to be finalized.
Sharing this happy news on X, Priti Sinha wrote, "We, @ajaydevgn @dirtigmanshu @pritisinha333 are producing Baloo Palwankar's story based on @Ram_Guha sir's book âA Corner of a Foreign Field.' We will bring the story of this great cricketer to film soon."
About the movie's story
The book from which the movie is inspired is based on the life of Palwankar Baloo, a left-arm spinner. Baloo belonged to the caste of leather workers, and because of his social identity, he had to suffer discrimination.
On the work front, Ajay Devgn has collaborated with Tabu for a love story written and directed by Neeraj Pandey. The movie âAuron Mein Kahan Dum Tha's teaser was released a few days back. The teaser has shown the intense onscreen chemistry of this blockbuster duo. With this, Tabu and Ajay will complete their tenth film together. The film also features a stellar ensemble cast including Jimmy Shergill, Saiee Manjrekar, and Shantanu Maheshwari. NH Studios presents, A Friday Filmworks Production, âAuron Mein Kahan Dum Tha' is produced by Narendra Hirawat, Kumar Mangat Pathak (Panorama Studios), Sangeeta Ahir, and Shital Bhatia. The film is set for a theatrical release on 5th July 2024.
Ajay Devgn has recently done a sports drama Maidaan. The biographical sports drama film, written and directed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma, chronicles the life and journey of Syed Abdul Rahim, an esteemed football coach. Maidaan, which also stars Priyamani, Gajraj Rao, and Bengali actor Rudranil Ghosh, was released in theatres on 10 April 2024. Produced by Zee Studios, Boney Kapoor, Arunava Joy Sengupta, and Akash Chawla, the screenplay and dialogues are written by Saiwyn Quadras and Ritesh Shah respectively, with music by AR Rahman and lyrics by Manoj Muntashir Shukla.
