Janhvi Kapoor in a still from Devara
Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor is eagerly awaiting the release of her debut Telugu film 'Devara'. The pan-Indian film will see her star opposite Jr NTR and Saif Ali Khan. The actress has always expressed a keen interest in working in South cinema especially considering her mother Sridevi's successful career in the South. Now, Janhvi's father Boney Kapoor has confirmed that the actress has signed a film opposite Ram Charan. The film will be helmed by 'Uppena' director Buchi Babu Sana.
In an interview with iDream Media, Boney Kapoor shared, "My daughter has already shot for a film with Jr NTR. She's loving every bit of the day she spends on sets here. Soon, she will start a film with Ram Charan too. These two boys are doing very well. She has been watching a lot of Telugu films, and she feels blessed to work with them. Hopefully, the films will work, and she will get more work. She will also act with Suriya soon. My wife (Sridevi) acted in multiple languages, I hope my daughter does the same."
Boney also revealed that he wanted to buy a house in Hyderabad. "I've shot 12 of my films in Hyderabad, back then it was a growing city. When I came back after a few years, the whole city had changed. I used to drive myself around, now I need someone local to guide me. I wanted to buy a house in Hyderabad for my wife because she worked a lot here. I remember we used to relish a lot of Andhra khaana (food) whenever we were here. Now, I don't have the heart to," he said.

"This story is also related to mumma. She and Jr. NTR sir's grandfather did a lot of movies together and they were quite an iconic pair and mumma would tell a lot of stories working with him. So I was very excited , I felt my life is a full circle now. So, yeah I was very excited and it feels good," she shared.
Directed by Koratala Siva, âDevara Part 1' will unfold in two parts. The magnum opus is produced by Yuvasudha Arts and NTR Arts, and presented by Nandamuri Kalyan Ram. The film's music is orchestrated by Anirudh Ravichander, and the cinematography is handled by R Rathnavelu. The film's BGM song titled âAll Hail The Tiger' also went viral on social media, leaving fans even more excited for the film. The film will be released in theatres on October 10, 2024.
