Adarsh Gourav
Having trained his attention to his music career in the last few months, actor Adarsh Gourav has turned to his profound love for indie rock music to create his next
single. Gourav, who admired the musical ethos of the '90s and early 2000s, calls his latest single an ode to the masters he has learned from.
"My inspiration for my music is deeply rooted in my love for indie rock, and indie artists from the '90s and the early 2000s," he said, adding that a long list of artistes, including Nirvana, The Strokes, Elliott Smith, the Pakistani band, Jal, AR Rahman, Coldplay, Porcupine Tree, Karnivool, Tool, Tesseract, Ustad Amir Khan, and Kishori Amonkar, have been pivotal in shaping his music sensibilities. "Their raw energy, introspective lyrics, and experimental sounds have always resonated with me."
Given that he received formal training in music at a young age, Gourav found in the art, a constant companion. The appreciation he received for his recent tracks, Bechaini, and Jadoo, was motivation for him to continue walking down the road. "I want to infuse my unique perspective into indie rock melodies. It's not enough to simply mimic my heroes. I want to sing my songs, and tell my story. It has to be personal, because that's the only way my music will truly resonate with people. If it is not personal, it is meaningless to me."
