Rashmika Mandanna, Ranbir Kapoor and Sandeep Reddy Vanga on Animal set
Over a month after the release of Sandeep Reddy Vaga's 'Animal', actor Rashmika Mandanna who essayed the role of Geetanjali in the film has opened up about working on the film. The film that stars Ranbir Kapoor in the lead shattered box office records collecting a massive amount worldwide. In the film, Rashmika played Ranbir's wife and in a heated moment, she was seen slapping the actor's character Ranvjay. In a new interview, Rashmika opened up about the scene and how she continued to cry even after the shot was done.
"The whole sequence was one take because there was a lot of moving. It wasn't predictable. I didn't know what I was going to do. Sandeep told me just to feel how a person in this situation would feel. I remember only this. I don't remember anything between the action and the cut. I just can't process it. My brain was just going blank," actor Rashmika Mandanna told Pinkvilla.
Even after the shot was done, Rashmika said that she continued to cry as she got caught up in the moment. She also went to Ranbir and asked if he was okay. "After the sequence, I was crying for real. I have slapped him, I am screaming, the chaos is happening and I go to Ranbir and I am like, âWas that okay? Are you okay?'" she said.
Rashmika further said, "We finished that sequence in half a day. I loved it, and at that moment I realised that this is the high of being an actor. People don't write sequences like this every time. I am so glad that I did this movie and this sequence. I was surprised with myself".

'Animal' has become Ranbir Kapoor's career biggest opener. It showcases a story about a father-son relationship. The actor's character is protective and obsessive about his father, played by Anil, and is seen threatening everybody who comes in the way of his love for his father.
The over three-hour-long film is produced by Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar's T-Series, Murad Khetani's Cine1 Studios, and Pranay Reddy Vanga's Bhadrakali Pictures the film is in the crime drama genre, it was released on December 1, 2023. It was released in five languages - Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam.
