Nikhat Khan in Pathaan
Shah Rukh Khan returned to the big screen after four years with 'Pathaan'. The film saw a massive opening on January 25, Wednesday. Despite being a non-holiday weekday, fans thronged to the theatres as early as 6 in the morning to catch the first show of the opening day. Owing to the demand, several theatres added extra shows at midnight to accommodate the excess demand. The film directed by Sidharth Anand also stars Deepika Padukone and John Abraham in lead roles.
The film which is an action thriller has some high-octane action sequences. The film also shows the audience the backstory of Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan and the history behind his name. In the movie, SRK's 'Pathaan' is seen getting his name during a mission in Afghanistan. But did you know, it is Aamir Khan's sister Nikhat Khan Hegde who played the role of SRK's foster mother in the film? In the movie, she not only considers 'Pathaan' as her son but also ties a holy armband during an emotional exchange. Nikhat has been thanking the audience to tag her in social media posts through her Instagram handle.
Nikhat was previously seen in films like 'Mission Mangal', 'Tanhaji - The Unsung Warrior', and 'Saand Ki Aankh' among others. She has also taken on the role of producer in films like 'Lagaan', 'Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke', and 'Tum Mere Ho', among others'.

Meanwhile, 'Pathaan' has created history by collecting Rs. 57 crore at the box office on day 1. The Hindi version of the film collected Rs. 55 crores while Tamil and Telugu dub collected Rs. 2 crores. This is the highest collection for a Hindi film ever surpassing the collection of 'KGF 2'. The film marks Shah Rukh Khan's return to the big screen after 4 years.
