Vivek Oberoi has decided to donate his eyes after a couple approached him to raise funds for the operation of their visually impaired daughter
Vivek Oberoi has always been active in supporting social causes through his voluntary organisation. Interestingly, he has now decided to donate his eyes after a couple approached him to raise funds for the operation of their visually impaired daughter. Realising the challenges in finding donors, the actor has decided to donate his eyes and spread awareness about its importance.

"Vivek will participate in a walk against blindness organised by a private eye hospital and a research centre in Navi Mumbai tomorrow. The walk will start from Palm Beach road in Vashi and end at a mall there. There, Vivek will pledge to donate his eyes," informs a source close to the actor.
Around 1,200 school kids and 10,000 people from across the city are expected to attend the event.
Vivek says, "There is no better way to be thankful for the gift of our sight than by helping someone in the dark. I came across a family, who approached me to help them search an eye donor. Through my interactions with them, I realised that it is a huge task to actually find donors as there are several stigmas and taboos associated with this. Not only have I pledged to donate my eyes but also hope to drive a strong social campaign for the cause of eye donations."
