Based on feedback from 100 lucky members of the film's group on Facebook
Having focus groups see a film before its release is a trend that B-Town has started employing in recent years. A group of people of different ages and professions are shown the film before the release and then they are asked for suggestions, which then tells a filmmaker how the film will be received. Based on the feedback, things are sometimes changed around in the script.
Kumar Taurani, MD of Tips Industries and producer of Vivek Oberoi starrer Prince- Its Showtime, is planning to invite 100 members of his film's Facebook group to critique his upcoming film on October 23.

The theatrical promo of Prince - Its Showtime hits theatres on November 6 with another one of Tips' home productions Ajab Prem Ki Gajab Kahani. But a select audience will be given a sneak preview of the promo as well as other unedited portions of the film much before anyone else.
Aamir Khan was the first one to introduce this trend of focus group screenings for his films. Right from Rang De Basanti he has arranged for such screenings.
Taurani says, "My film is on an editing table in Paris right now and the visual effects are on in full swing. This is the right time to get audience feedback because I will actually be able to incorporate theu00a0 constructive suggestions that I receive." The 100 people will be selected via registration through a popular networking site on the film's fan page. Princeu00a0- It's Showtime releases January 2010.
