Getting a gangster's demeanour right may be a cakewalk for Vivek Oberoi, who has worked in multiple movies in that genre. But being cast as former underworld don, Muthappa Rai, in Ram Gopal Varma's next demands intense prep. Along with major physical transformation, Vivek will have to learn Kannada. Luckily for him, he found a tutor at home.

Vivek's wife Priyanka Alva Oberoi, who hails from Karnataka, has been helping him get the nuances and intonations of Kannada right. "Since Vivek plays a gangster-turned-businessman based in Bangalore, there are several scenes that require him to speak in that language fluently. He will also be dubbing for the movie in Kannada," says a source.
Vivek says, "Muthappa Rai is a larger-than-life character who belongs to Bangalore and therefore, it is important to get the minutes of his mother tongue right. Learning Kannada is tough, but I am happy and blessed to have an instructor right here at home."
