His witty, and often wicked, posts have earned him a big following on Twitter. But, few would imagine that Virender Sehwag would bring his love for humour onto a digital platform with a video on demand (VOD) series. "I enjoy cracking jokes and making light at press meets. But, it was after retirement that I considered exploring humour seriously," says the cricketer, whose 15-episode series, 'Viru Ke Funde', will debut on December 2.

He confesses to have discovered his ability to tickle funny bones while doing commentary. The series will be a compilation of his life's fundas delivered in crisp, two-minute bites. "I will give pep talks and share experiences on and off the field. There will be some locker room stories and I will put the spotlight on the relationship between cricketers. My fans will get to see the real me."

Sehwag conceptualising the show long ago, but it was the Twitterati's response to his posts that spurred the project. But, would his fans be content with two-minute conversations? "We might explore a longer format after analysing reactions to season 1. Now, I don't have enough content to churn out an hour-long show."

Sehwag adds Sasha played a key role in creating the final product. "I suggested that we run with my on-field experiences, but Vikram and team made the writing entertaining. I am not that clever. I gave them the blueprint, they wove the plot."
