The makers of the film released the first look poster in June, where the Manmarziyan actor is seen donning an extremely spooky look. In the poster, Vicky Kaushal is seen screening through the broken window of the ship, where a bloodied hand with long nails is seen grabbing the 31-year-old's bruised face.
The film which marks the directorial debut of Bhanu Pratap Singh is slated to hit the theatres on November 15 this year. It is produced by Karan Johar, Hiroo Yash Johar, Apoorva Mehta, and Shashank Khaitan. Vicky Kaushal was last seen in URI: The Surgical Strikes where he played the role of the Indian army officer.
For the unversed, Ram Gopal Varma's 2003 horror flick too was also titled Bhoot, starring Urmila Matondkar and Ajay Devgn. The film was RGV's one of the most successful projects, and people couldn't stop being in awe with the spooky effects added by the director in the movie.
Ram Gopal Varma also appreciated the director and tweeted: "Hey Karan Johar the poster is looking WOW! Can't wait to see the intense Vicky Kaushal in this genre. [sic]" Karan Johar also replied saying: "Thanks for your generosity Ramu....Means a lot to all of us at @DharmaMovies #Bhoot [sic]"
Karan Johar was keen on the title Bhoot, which he felt was apt for the genre. Karan reached out to RGV, requesting for the title for his new franchise. And, he instantly honoured his request. Thanking his gesture, Karan said: "I made an unreasonable request to Ramu, asking him for his franchise title BHOOT and he graciously and magnanimously agreed to give it to us without even blinking an eyelid. All of us at Dharma are blown away by his generosity and are eternally grateful to him. We aspire to make sure the title is in the right hands of horror."
