Actor Uday Chopra says 'Dhoom 3' is riding on Aamir Khan as the third instalment in the action film franchise has got bigger with the superstar being roped in

"Now the pressure is on Aamir Khan. With Aamir, whatever he touches turns to gold and with him in a brand like Dhoom, it makes it bigger than anything else. We are all excited," Uday told reporters here last evening.

After the success of 'Dhoom' (2004) and 'Dhoom 2' (2006) there is already a lot of talk about the third, where Aamir will be seen as a baddie and has been cast opposite Katrina Kaif. Uday is amazed with the response the 'Dhoom' series has garnered over the period of time.

"We did not expect it to be this popular. We knew people liked comedy and action but children really loved the film a lot. When we started 'Dhoom', none of us - Abhishek, John or me - were big stars, I think the action was the star of the film and that is why it has done so well," he said.

'Dhoom' series revolves around daring theft plans, handsome thieves and bike chases. Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra will continue to reprise their roles as Jai and Ali in 'Dhoom 3'.

It is for the third time that Uday will be playing the role of a con-turned-cop, so he does not have to prepare this time.

"I am growing my hair and doing my own stunts. Luckily for me I have done this role before so I don't have to prepare too much, I just need to learn my lines and show up," he said. Uday's love-hate partner in the film, Abhishek Bachchan, feels the look of both the characters - Jai and Ali - should more or less remain the same.

"When you are talking about a franchise like 'Dhoom', changing the look of your heroes in each film will not work. I don't want to lose the image we have of Jai Dixit. If I come suddenly with a different body and different clothes, he will lose his characteristics," Abhishek said.

"Like Ali is supposed to be a comic character with one liners and Jai is supposed to be no-nonsense kind of guy who is not bothered about what he is wearing. I think minor cosmetic changes are fine but I would not like to change Jai and Ali too much," he said.

Abhishek also brushed aside rumours of doing the Hindi version of recently released bilingual socio fantasy film 'Eega' directed by S S Rajamouli. "No I am not doing it. Not that I know of," he said. u00a0
