Bhumi Pednekar's Twitter profile reads: Actor, dreamer and future leader. She has been part of socially relevant films like Dum Laga Ke Haisha (2015) which dealt with body shaming and her recent release, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, in which she plays a fiery housewife wanting to build a toilet at home.

Her next Shubh Mangal Savdhan, deals with the social stigma of erectile dysfunction. Being socially conscious has made the actor look at politics as the next step.

Perhaps she has been inspired by Toilet co-star Akshay Kumar, who too harbours political aspirations.
