For someone like me, who's grown up in close proximity to nature, it's disheartening to see the ecological damage in India.
So, when I got a chance to associate with the Save the Tiger campaign, I took it up. As a child, I used to hear fascinating stories about the tiger. We remember going for walks and hikes in the surrounding forests to see wild animals.
The tiger has a place in our folklore, art, religious iconography and so on. It's sad to imagine India without tigers. The tiger represents our heritage and needs to be conserved.
