Tiger Zinda Hai director refutes suggestions that the Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer is deferred due to the Central Board of Film Certifications' 68-day submission policy
Scheduled releases of Bollywood outings were affected recently after the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) brought its 68-day submission policy to light. Amidst the controversy surrounding the release of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmavati, the Board highlighted that films must be submitted for reviewing 68 days prior to the release date. After recent releases like Firangi and Tera Intezar were apparently affected, rumours suggested that Tiger Zinda Hai too would be postponed. However, director Ali Abbas Zafar argues that his Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer will hit screens on December 22, as planned.'

"We have submitted the film [for certification] a long time ago. We should get our certificate soon. The only work that's pending is the addition of a few finishing touches to the final edit. The fine-tuning of the product goes on till the last day."
It is suggested that Zafar had submitted the film to the Board a minimum of 68 days before the scheduled release date. A trade pundit, on the condition of anonymity, tells mid-day, "Business for Tiger Zinda Hai will be lucrative. With [Vidya Balan's] Tumhari Sulu being the last big release, the audience is awaiting a blockbuster. TZH will be viewed [by the CBFC] this week, and should be passed with minimal cuts."
