Amrita Rao, Bollywood's quintessential girl-next-door has had a good 2013 so far with two hits in her kitty. She wants to complete a hat-trick with her next film that has Sunny Deol in the lead

CS caught up with the actress for a quick chat.

Reel bytes
I am playing the role of a television journalist in my upcoming film. I watched a lot of Hindi news channels to get into my character. My idea was to get the body language and dialogue delivery right. I have even tried to ensure that I look as realistic as possible. Working with Sunnyji (Deol) was a great experience. I used to look at his hand everyday to understand how a dhai kilo ka haath actually looks like (laughs). He is a very quiet and shy person. I feel he has the strongest physique and the warmest smile in Bollywood.

Looking forward
The year has been a positive one for me with Jolly LLB and Satyagraha doing well at the box office. I want to take it further by doing some good content-driven films. It's my dream to work with new age directors like Anand L Rai and Nishikant Kamat. u00a0I would love to do Marathi films with the directors I have confidence in. On my wish-list is Satish Rajwade, I feel he's a brilliant filmmaker. The Marathi industry has evolved and we are seeing some great films being made nowadays.u00a0

In search of thrills
One of the genres I would like to experiment in is thrillers. I love suspense thriller films. Sadly, very few mystery films are made in Bollywood. I am waiting for a director to come to me with such a script.

Time to introspect
I love the new wave cinema in Bollywood. It's great for actors as it gives them a variety of films and characters to experiment with. However, the flip side is that the shelf life of actors is reducing, as people want a new actor every week. The idea in this scenario is to create a niche for yourself and sustain it with good work.u00a0
