After facing problems in the Kashmir schedule, the film is apparently now stuck in limbo because of the producer's financial woes.
It is learnt that the producer has sold off his two luxurious cars due to a serious cash crunch in the recession-ridden market.
Patchwork left
A source from the unit reveals, "The shoot of Lamhaa is almost over and a few days of patchwork is left. The shoot is unable to proceed due to non-payments of salaries and wages to the technicians on sets. Director Rahul Dholakia has already got going with his next project, as he can't wait anymore for the patchwork to begin."
Blame Bipasha
When contacted Bunty says, "We have six days of remaining patchwork, out of which three days are with Bipasha Basu and the other three days with the other artist. Bipasha signed All The Best and went away for almost 45 days. These are unpredictable circumstances, which have led to the delay in the movie. Bipasha coming back from Kashmir, giving her dates to another movie, leads to changes in shooting schedules for everyone."
He continues, "Also, we were not aware that our Rs 3 crore set would shoot up to an eight-crore set. The technicians are paid according to stipulated contracts. My general manager pays them as and when the shoot takes place. Some payments are made during the shoot and some after the shoot. My shoot has to be completed in order to pay them."
About selling off his fancy cars he says, "I have not sold of my cars due to recession. They were old cars, and I use a car for a maximum period of three years."
About plans of buying a new car he says, "With good luck and good wishes and Lamhaa doing well, I will surely go in for a new car."
