Baiju Bawra: This was one of dad's favourite films. As kids we used to listen to its music all the time. This was
Mother India: This was another one of my dad's favourite films. He thought it was the best film ever made in India. He would keep comparing other films that released around the time to Mother India. It was only later on in life that I was able to relate to the strength of Nargis's character.
Sound Of Music: I saw this film with my sister and fell absolutely in love with it, so much so that we ended up watching it again. My mum had to come looking for us as she had no idea we were both watching the film.
Purab Aur Paschim: This film really left an impression and it was one of the films that spoke to me. It was ahead of its times and I took some references for Bhaji On The Beach and Bride and Prejudice from it.
Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge: Another film which remains close to my heart is DDLJ because it connected with the NRI audiences and brought them back to the theatres. SRK and Kajol were absolutely amazing in this film.u00a0
