His movie Mission 11 July hit theatres last month. If you've seen it, you'll probably know that Tarun Khanna had to sweat it out for hours in the gym to achieve that toned bod. He share his fitness secrets with CS:
The days when I am not shooting, I never miss gym, come what may. I workout for about two hours a day and like to vary my exercises. I enjoy running long distances at high speed, but since I can't do that everyday, I try to fit in other cardio exercises in my fitness routine. I've always enjoyed doing weights but I take care to avoid injuries.
I have been training in Shito Ryu style of karate for over four years now. Since kicks and punches are a regular part of my movie stunts, I keep in touch with these drills. It's a great way of keeping fit and strengthening your limbs.
Eating healthy
Though I'm a vegetarian, I eat eggs to get my quota of protein. I like to keep my meals simple. For breakfast I down an egg white omlette made of six to eight eggs, a few slices of brown bread and skimmed milk. I eat a lot of fruits in between my meals. I try to eat at least one green vegetable or one paneer dish for lunch or dinner.u00a0 I like milk products, so curd is a must for me. I carry a lot of dry fruits with me wherever I go which serve as my mid-meal snack.u00a0

Scoring a six
I was trying to get a six pack for the longest time but just couldn't. Then one day I just on the secret formula. The only way to get in shape is to be disciplined about your workouts. Don't neglect it, but don't also overdo it. And most importantly you need to realise that you might not be genetically cut out for a six pack no matter how hard you work (out). So don't get fixated over the idea of getting a six pack. Staying fit and in shape is just as good.
Shape up
Fitness should be an important part of your lifestyle. It is something that boosts your self-confidence. It's an integral part of my daily routine, not only because I'm an actor and need to have a good physique, but because I enjoy working out.
