Karan Johar and Bhumi Pednekar
On Thursday, Karan Johar announced his next directorial venture, Takht, and it has set tongues wagging about the film's cast. The period drama stars Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, Bhumi Pednekar, Vicky Kaushal, Janhvi Kapoor and Anil Kapoor. The inclusion of Bhumi was a hot topic of discussion. The Yash Raj discovery seems to have switched sides to the Dharma camp.
Of late, the Shubh Mangal Saavdhan actress had been hobnobbing with KJo. Bhumi made it to the headlines when the actress was spotted at KJo's 46th birthday bash in the US. In fact, Bhumi was the only Bollywood actress who had attended KJo's birthday celebration in May in New York. Not only this, Karan too attended Bhumi's birthday celebration last month. Seems like all the bonding has paid off for Bhumi.
The Lust Stories actress is currently prepping up for her next film, Sonchiriya, opposite Sushant Singh Rajput, which is directed by Abhishek Chaubey.
Takht will be an epic battle for the majestic Mughal throne. It will be a story of a family, ambition, greed, betrayal, love and succession. More importantly "Takht" will be about war and love. The period drama's screenplay is by Sumit Roy and dialogues are written by Sumit Roy and Hussain Haidary. It is being produced by Hiroo Yash Johar and Apoorva Mehta and directed by Karan Johar. The film will release in 2020.
