Trade circuit is abuzz that Sushant Singh Rajput-starrer Chanda Mama Door Ke has been postponed indefinitely. Touted as Bollywood's first space odyssey, the actor did a stint of training at NASA in July
In May, mid-day had reported that Sushant Singh Rajput-starrer Chanda Mama Door Ke would go on floors post July. Since the film's pre-production is yet to be wrapped up, insiders suggest that the project has been pushed indefinitely. "After Sushant returned from NASA, he was told that the film would take a few more months of pre-production work. It was only legit that he gave his dates to Abhishek Kapoor for Kedarnath, who was set to start filming," says a source.
The trade circuit is abuzz that the budget of the space film is also a challenge, because producers Viki Rajani and Eros International haven't been able to amass the funds required. "As of now, the film hasn't been shelved, but since it's an expensive movie to make, it can't start until the financial logistics are worked out. The actors have assigned their dates to different films, which were earlier slated for Chanda Mama Door Ke," says the source. The film's spokesperson remained unavailable for comment till the time of going to press.
