Eighty percent of the wishes/gifts arrive on the former date and the remaining 20 per cent on the latter. So, on the actual date, ek kauva bhi wish nahi karta." As CS assures him that we will give a notification to this effect, the singer gets talking about his birthday plans.
In tune
I had composed a tune for my birthday. It is the traditional Happy Birthday one with a little variation. Now, I wanted one of my friends to sing for me on that tune today, but he rejected the idea. Ultimately, I had to sing for myself (laughs). But I am going to release the track on the net. My fans can record it and use it for their birthdays.
On a platter
Every year, I cook for my friends. The three items always on the menu are a chicken dish, arhar dal and jeera rice. I do everything myself right from chopping the onions to preparing the ginger garlic paste. Plus, there is a type of roti called Khamira. They are a little thick and served with ghee and lime pickle. I love pineapple cake, so my friends will get it for me. My friends have said that they will make sure that I sing my latest song, Hum Toh Hain Cappuccino at least a 100 hundred times for them.
Down memory lane
I remember having a gala birthday party when I turned five. A miniature model of an Italian Fiat car was gifted to me. My fifth year was a special one because that year I won a good-looking baby contest as well (laughs out loud). There was no musical atmosphere in my family. So, once when I wanted to sing on my birthday, I went and joined a group of Banjaras (gypsies) who had camped close to my family home. Needless to say, my parents gave me an earful.
Marriage on my mind
It is my wish to get married this year. Though I have got quite a few proposals I simply can't zero down on the perfect girl. At times, I feel that I should opt for a Swayamvar. That might just be my best last resort (laughs out loud).u00a0
