Sexy, not tight
Get on the slip dress wagon, it's fuss free and shapes the body elegantly without the skin tight feel. Go with minimal accessories. If you have to wear make-up, pick wisely - either a bold mouth with subtle eyes or vice versa.

Get groovy with textures
Have fun with graphics, which are strong this season and have a festive feel to them. You can also play with trendy metallic skirts that are diverse in their wearability. Texture and lace are always fun to play with. Choose one basic
separate and then elevate the look with a stand-out piece. Culottes and jumpsuits in various silhouettes are big, this season. A jumpsuit is a great option instead of an LBD as it's a one-piece and can flatter different body types. If you are a bigger size, you could throw on a jacket over the jumpsuit, which will make you look slimmer.

9 to 5, 5 to 12
You could go with a pair of metallic trousers and flats to work with a nice dress shirt. Turn that into your night look by trading your flats for sexy stilettoed pumps and throw on either a statement neckpiece or a cuff.

I'll be in my suit and tie
Most New Year party invites don't mention a strict dress code. A safe bet, in this case, will be a dark formal suit (sans the tie) that can be paired with a patterned shirt and lapel pin. For a relaxed evening, pair navy or burgundy cotton chinos with a textured evening shirt; add a blazer, if required.
Gold and Gunmetal Lapel Pin
Fortunately, men can avoid spending hours putting together the right look. A few wardrobe essentials like a well-fitted suit and classic accessories work as a saviour at all times. One can also pair the jacket of the suit with a pair of denims or chinos and a classic white shirt. Avoid chunky accessories; go suave and pair your attire with accoutrements like a funky lapel pin or a printed pocket square.
Play with colours
Incase of a black tie event or an alternative to black tie, try a smoking jacket with black trousers. A three piece suit, with a patterned waistcoat, will make a strong style statement. A blazer paired with denims (in pic) work best for the informal party attire. Don't neglect the footwear. Tan and black oxfords go well with most outfits. It's always best to understand your personal style and try looks that work well for you instead of experimenting at the last moment. Along with classic solid suits, include a few patterns such as glen plaid, houndstooth and other woven designs.

Bring out the woollens
It's sweater weather. The boys can try dressing up their everyday looks with a nice cardigan or play with layering this season. Invest in a nice shave. As for your crowning glory, the same rule applies for men and women; if your hair looks good, somehow, you always look good.
