Responding to reports of her backing out of SS Rajamouli's magnum opus, 'Baahubali', Sridevi says she felt "very sad" with the way the filmmaker choose to speak about her in the interviews that followed. Reports suggested that the actress, who was originally cast for the role of Sivagami, had to be replaced due to her starry tantrums. Refuting the rumours, Sridevi says she was hurt that Rajamouli, who she hadn't interacted with in the past, chose to believe everything that his unit told him. "I was shocked and hurt by his interview. Rajamouli is a calm and dignified person.

I was very happy to [have got a chance to] work with him. But, the way he spoke about the issue made me feel very sad," she said. Asserting that she wouldn't have been able to make a place in the industry if she made such demands, she added, "People would have sent me packing if I was like that. I don't know if the producer wrongly told Rajamouli that I made all these demands, but it is not in good taste to speak like this."
