Be it designer wear, western outfits and gowns or bridal and party costumes, fashion designer Roselin is creating waves with her fashion statements at her recently opened shop, Rossellinn Designer Store
Rossellinn Designer Store
At the Fashion Hub Shop, Rosellinn Designer Store at Lokhandwala, Andheri, spread over 5500 square feet, covering two floors, we are greeted with a display of exclusive fashionable clothing and accessories.
The variety of apparels is to be seen to be believed. From ethnic styles to Indo-Western to trendy sexy Western styles, you will find it all here. Types of fabric ranges from cotton to soft georgette, chiffon and graceful silk to the rustic leather as well as the mushy velvet.
It is just four months that Rosellinn Designer Store has opened its doors to fashionistas and it is already drawing attention. Quiz the designer on this and she says, "Though Lokhandwala is brimming with stylish people, it has no real designer shops. Most of the stuff you get here are Bangkok imports. One has to travel to Bandra/ Khar to get good designer outfits. But they are expensive which makes it unaffordable for people with a limited budget. At my store, you will find a range of designer outfits - both ethnic as well as Western wear at reasonable prices. A similar outfit will set you back by a few thousands at other places."
However what she finds difficult to fathom is people's penchant for branded apparels, "Some of them are more interested in brands which may have several copies than pick up an exclusive designer outfit. I fail to understand why a branded outfit is preferred to a single outfit which has an exclusive silhouette on a fine fabric at a reasonable cost." A valid point, indeed.
To her credit, the designer has a range of options to choose from. After mastering her craft for nine years, today she can boast of designing apparels for every occasion. From skirts and capris to salwar kameez and lehenga cholis, she has a knack for creating fantastic cuts for different sizes.
Though she loves playing with satin, chiffon and georgette, her absolute favourite is silk. "I love creating classy cuts on printed raw silk. They enhance a woman's curves beautifully. Also, I love playing with flower prints. They add a feminine touch to the attire. Stud work is a good add-on for a dressy look," she says.
Besides apparels, the store also has a collection of accessories like jewellery, bags and shoes too. Says Roselin, "It was my dream to have a complete lifestyle store for the stylish woman - she should find all her accessories that match her apparel under the same roof."
The newly opened store is keeping her extremely busy as she explains, "From roaming the markets to choose the fabrics, designing them, managing the tailors and also doing up the interiors of this place, it's a lot of hard work. But it's all worth the effort when people come in and appreciate your work. Money is secondary. I would like people to feel that they are getting their money's worth."
To add to it, her deadly working mantra âWhy should I follow people, they should follow me', is evident in her innovative designs and the must-visit designer studio.
