No one seems to have a clue what it is they want or how they should go about getting it in this film. Something Borrowed feels like something that makes all romantic comedies want to go drown themselves. So, lawyer Rachel (Goodwin) who has a crush on her best friend, Darcy's (Hudson) fianc ufffd Dex (Colin) finally tells him, after a few drinks, what she has been hiding since law school. You see, it was Rachel who introduced the two and backed out when she thought she didn't stand a chance with her dream guy.

Now Kate and Colin are both reasonably attractive actors with Ginnifer leaning towards plain-looking. And while you would side with her character, Rachel's reasoning (beautiful people deserve each other) seems fatalistic yet true.

Now Krasinski, who plays common friend Ethan, is the voice of reason. He sees where the two girls are erring and tries to get Rachel to see the folly of their ways, occasionally pushing her to 'do the right thing'.
But between love and it never being easy, the film goes back and forth tangling and intertwining like a Woody Allen film. It feels moody in some parts and disinterested in othersl.

If I had the chance, I'd stay far, far away from this one. Hudson and Goodwin make this film look like an anti-Bride Wars, but it doesn't have half the verve of that flick. And we're not just talking about Anne Hathaway.
