Cinephiles will have to wait to learn if Sidharth Malhotra is indeed playing the twin game in 'A Gentleman', which pairs him alongside Jacqueline Fernandez. But, the makers have revealed that the actor will have a 'sundar and susheel' avatar, who will go by the name Gaurav, while an alternate personality, Rishi, will see the actor's meaner persona.
Malhotra trained with French action choreographer Cyril Raffaelli for his part, and says the stunts in this film are more stylised than those seen in his previous actioners. "In the past, I've done action in films like Brothers (2015) and Ek Villain (2014), but for this film, the stunts are more quirky. I'd like to term it popcorn action, given that it is entertaining and doesn't come across as intense or heavy. At the same time, I'd like to point out that no CGI or body double has been used. Most of the action has been done by me," Malhotra tells mid-day.
The outdoor sequence were shot in Miami, Bangkok, Goa and Mumbai. "I am doing a few chase sequences involving jumping from buildings, along with a few hand-to-hand combat scenes. We haven't tried anything outlandish, one that will defy the law of gravity. It is all real." Interestingly, Fernandez will be seen pulling off a few stunts too, and Malhotra says he learnt a lot from the actress while working with her. "She is always charged up, and despite a hectic and grueling schedule, never shows her stress to anybody. I wish I had the patience and understanding to do that."
