Aadesh Bandekar, president, Chitrapat Sena says, "It was Balasaheb's dream and Uddhav's concept to have a scheme like this. We will insure not only the technicians, actors, spot boys, drivers but also their family members.
We have tied up with a hospital near Film City in Goregaon which has agreed to give a 50 per cent discount on the final bill amount to members of our organisation."
Incidentally, the union will not charge a premium from the crew members who will be insured.
"Our only condition for eligibility is that they need to be part of our organisation. We are collecting R2,000 as enrollment fees per year plus R500 for renovation of membership. So the premiums for the policy have been covered in it. Due to lack of money, our artistes don't get proper treatment and are left to die.
Now hopefully, the scenario will change. Moreover, if a particular person may not be able to report to work for 10 days, then we will give them a certain amount as compensation."u00a0
